In 2017, we host our 18th annual St. John Industrial Group Art Contest for area students. The goal of the contest is to provide the youth of St. John the Baptist Parish with an opportunity to become interested, involved and educated about the environment. Students chose either “environment” or this year’s newsletter theme “Value, Growth & Innovation” as their art inspiration. Open to students from the 3rd through 6th grades in St. John, the contest was promoted through L’Observateur newspaper advertisements and via a letter to all school principals. First, second, third and honorable mention places were awarded in each grade.
